Third-Year Bachelor's Degree Internship
The introductory research internship takes place at the end of the first year. It gives students the opportunity to become familiar with the world of research by working in a laboratory alongside researchers. This experience is the first step in building the professional research network that students must begin to establish from the very start of their studies at the school and which they will continue to develop during their thesis and postdoc.
- Organizer: Clément Lafargue
- Supervisors for thesis defenses: Mélanie Lebental
Before the internship
Meetings are scheduled to help you set up your internship. The dates will be communicated to you during the year
Dates and duration of the internship
The L3 introductory research internship takes place between mid-May and early July (6 weeks). Since the duration is fairly short, it is recommended that you complete it in France. The following year, the M1 internship, which will last more than 3 months, should preferably be completed abroad.
Choosing an Internship and Finalizing the Agreement
Students are encouraged to begin searching on their own, as early as the start of the academic year, to find their internship topic and host laboratory. The faculty (lecturers, teaching assistants, the “advisor,” etc.) can, however, assist them. Seminars and lab visits are also designed to help students choose an internship and establish contacts.
Once an internship has been found, the student must download the internship agreement application form from the intranet, fill it out, and email it to the DER office. This application will then be processed by the DSVEC, which will draft the agreement. Once the agreement is signed, it is sent to the student, who must have it signed by all relevant parties. Once this is done, the student returns the agreement via email to the address from which it was received.
